Addison's First Word

Addie said her first understandable word today... "more"... while eating edamame (soy) beans! She has also been signing the word "more" very well over the past few days. She almost always says "Dada" when Paul walks into the room, and even sometimes says "Mama" or "Dri-ger" (for Shiner). However, today she sounded out "more" perfectly! It was SO cool to hear.

I couldn't get her to actually say "more" again, but here is a video of Addie signing it while eating beans and rice. She loves Mexican food... I think she may really be related to Paul and me.

Addie will also give a big old goofy smile when you say "Cheese" to her with the camera up. It's hilarious, sometimes she will even try to say "cheese" too, but it sounds more like "shhheeee"

Addie's First Steps!

Ok, not her very first but close enough. She took 4 steps by herself about a week ago and then wouldn't even try since today. She has been trying a lot today and here is Addie try, try, trying again...

Trying to jump...

Big LAUGH!And done...

Paul and I went to San Antonio to see Paul's family. His grandmother is moving to San Antonio from Houston and his Aunt, Uncle and cousin were visiting his parents as well. Here are a few pictures I took of Addie, Terri and Mary.

11 Month Update

Addison is almost walking! Just last week she constantly wanted us to hold both of her hands and walk her around the house. I think we walked with her from the kitchen into the living room more than 400 times and my back is feeling it. Over the past couple of days she is able to start walking when one of us only holds one of her hands. She has become much stronger, and Shiner is feeling it too. Now when Addison crawls on her, Shiner wants no part of her! I think Addison is close to 23 or 24 pounds but I have not weighed her recently. She must be too heavy and strong for Shiner. This may be the last picture of Addison with Shiner for a little while... at least until she becomes more coordinated.

Addison has discovered rice, and wow... I would say she "loves it" but I think that may be an understatement. We took her to a restaurant with some friends and she shoveled rice off of a friend's plate into her mouth. Then when we put rice on her own mat, she even put her face on the mat and stopped using her hands to eat the rice. My mom got some pictures...

Overall, Addie has been doing great. She seems to be more contemplative and I think she actually understands what we may be saying to her more. She does not freak out as much about getting her diaper changed, but definitely would rather be crawling to her toys. She is starting on whole milk and hopefully we can transition her off of formula to whole milk soon. She now has another tooth coming in on the bottom and two more on the top making 4 on top and 3 on the bottom. She is growing so fast, I just can't believe how tall and BIG she is even compared to other babies! She really seems to be very social. She initiates interactions with other babies very quickly and laughs, claps or tries to kiss or touch other babies when she is close enough. I have been taking her to swim classes and she seems to love the interactions and being in the water. She continues to love music and attempts to sing "Bah Bah Black Sheep" sometimes. She has been so much fun! Here are some pictures of Addison over the last few weeks.

We went to a friend's place for the 4th of July and Addison was very interested in Daddy's beer. (Note what she is wearing... we had a very cute 4th of July outfit, but she was TOO big to fit into it. I believe she fits best in 18 month clothing already!)

Addison's famous "Stink Face"... she gives it to everyone when she doesn't like something or is unsure of something. I guess she didn't want her picture taken.

Awww... that's better...

On a play date with Sam... she didn't want him to touch any of her toys! She has a strong personality. Sam was so nice he just scooted away from Addison. She actually tried kissing and touching him too, but I didn't get any good pictures of that.

On our morning walk Addison kept turning around to look at me.
