Happy (first) Thanksgiving!

Paul and I switch holiday plans with our families each year. This year we spend Thanksgiving with my parents and Christmas with his. My parents came down for some yummy turkey, and to also watch Addison while Paul and I went to the Texas v. A&M game. (Go Horns! 49-9) Kelly and Tracy came over for dinner and it was a Thanksgiving full of family, football, dominoes, turkey, and fun!

I am SO very thankful for my wonderful family and the time we spent together. Here are some Thanksgiving pictures. Thanks mom and dad for babysitting!

Gramps says "Turkey Day!" with Addison:

Geared up for the game!

This bib was made at the baby shower (by guess who?). Addie has been drooling a lot lately and a bib is a necessary addition to her outfit!

Getting Ready for Christmas Already!

Paul and I have never had a Christmas tree before. We thought this year would be a good year to purchase one! We were so excited about it, that Paul went ahead and put it up this morning. Addison is enamured by the lights... it's pretty funny. Mary and Phil came to visit today to watch the Monan Bell football game. The football game is a match between Wabash (Phil's undergraduate university) and DePauw, and would be comparable to the Texas v. A&M game. Here are some pictures from their visit and Addison and the tree!

Addison has been very vocal over the last week or so. She often jabbers and is pretty loud! I don't think she will be a shy one. She is sleeping very well, and doing just great!

One Week Down!

Well, we made it through the week. The beginning of the week was much harder than the end of the week for me. Addison had mostly good days. The teachers said she never really cried, which made it hard for them judge if she was hungry. She was having difficulty with eating, and at the beginning of the week she was only eating 2 bottles all day... and one day only one bottle. Combined with very little sleep made for a cranky Addison on the ride home. It also made me feel like I had no control over her schedule. I just wanted her to eat and sleep well. She was probably so distracted by all the other kids and fun toys. We ended up asking them to attempt to feed her at least 3 bottles a day. Friday was the only day that she actually ate all three. So, that's improvement! Hopefully, soon she will get use to sleeping there as well!

It is so sad for me not to see her, but today I stayed home all day with her instead of opting to go to the Longhorn game. Kelly came over for a bit and we had fun watching the game on TV and watching Addison giggle in her bouncy rain forest chair. I bought Addison a few cute hand puppets from Target... for a dollar! Here are pictures of her watching the game in her Texas gear (thank you Paul for dressing her this morning!) ... with her Martian alien puppet friend.

Addison Goes to Day Care

Addison has been doing really well at day care the last few days. I
miss her a lot during the day, and she usually falls asleep pretty
quick after getting home. Hopefully soon she starts getting use to her
school and is able to sleep better during the day and stay up later in
the afternoon. Here is a picture of her this morning before Paul put
her in the car. She loves looking at her toy.

Some Cute Pictures

I found this Texas outfit in some of the hand me down clothes, and thought it was SO cute. Addison looks like she is wearing "MC Hammer" pants.... or circus bloomers.

Here are some more cute pictures of Addison at 12 weeks. Shiner likes to sit near her and try to lick her when I'm not looking.

Addison's First Day of School

My maternity days ran out on October 31st, so I had to return to work on Halloween! I'd been preparing myself for this day for a long time, and have mixed feelings about going back to work and sending Addison to day care. :( Just when she starts getting really fun, and we have the acid reflux under control I have to hand her over to someone else. I'm sad about not getting to see and play with her all day, and I just kept telling myself that she was with Paul all day. It helped a lot that Paul dropped her off in the morning, and I got to pick her up in the afternoon. We will see how I do next week when I have to really start working 5 days in a row. The positive side of going back to work is that I like to be able to socialize with adults and feel challenged. I really like the people I work with, and love working with kids. I know eventually the whole schedule will be "normal", I can't wait till it feels that way!

Her first day went well. The teachers said she never really cried. She did not sleep as much as she usually does, so when she got home she was pretty over tired. The good side of that though, was she slept 10 hours last night! She was a good baby, and her teachers seem very nice. Here is a picture of her on her first day!
