20 Month Update (Almost 21 Months!)

I feel like Addison is growing up SO fast! My mom, (GG) recently trimmed her hair because it was getting out of control. Poor girl, has a "froh" of curls. It looks great now, and not as disheveled and frizzy. I have been doing her hair like mine with a little bit of mouse and hairspray and that seems to keep the frizz down. I can't believe how grown up she is looking already!

In addition, Addison has been saying more words. She now can put two words together to say things like "Mama's shoes" or "more please." She even says "two" when there are two of something. She especially likes to say "No." Addie likes to say "No" when there is a song playing in the car she doesn't want to listen to. Right now she is really into a Raffi cd with lots of children's music and she use to LOVE "Wheels on the Bus." She would listen to "Wheels on the Bus" over and over and ask for it again and again. However, I think now she may be sick of "Wheels on the Bus" because she will say "NNNOOOOooo" when it starts to play. She asks for this Raffi cd by saying "Bus, Bus, Bus" but she really just wants the other music on the cd. She also loves to dance and I think she has been trying to sing recently.

Addie loves to jump and when she is excited that is all she attempt to do now. She also likes to spin around and run. She is becoming very active! Addison also likes to point out colors. It seems like her favorite color is green. She points out almost anything that is green and asks for the green colored goldfish crackers specifically (there are rainbow goldfish crackers now!) Addie loves trucks and cars and will tell us what color each truck and car is. She also tries to sign the colors of things.

Can anyone tell me when this baby turned into a little girl?

16 Weeks Along!

I'm 16 weeks along in the pregnancy and cannot wait to find out if this baby is a girl or a boy! I had a doctor's appointment this morning and was hoping that she would wheel in the ultrasound machine for a "peek" ... no luck. However, the doc did check the heart rate and it was a healthy 152.

When I was pregnant with Addison, Paul and I thought for sure she was a boy... before the big ultrasound of course. This time around, I go back and forth on thinking it's a girl or a boy. I think it would be great for Addison to have a sister! Plus, we are totally "equipped" for a girl... clothes, bedding, mindset, etc. Then there is that mystery of the "boy." It's cliche, but would be nice to have a girl and a boy. I know we will be happy either way!

The only difference with this pregnancy than with Addie, is that I definitely want more salty foods. I have been feeling a bit puny in the evening, but much better than I was feeling in the first trimester. Hopefully the next 3 and a half weeks go by quickly. We find out if it's a boy or a girl on May 13th.

Addison watched this video over and over for about 20 minutes. If I tried to scroll down she would yell "NO!" and say "more, more, more."

Addie LOVES cats. She desperately tries to chase Kelly and Tracy's cat, Leo, around their house to kiss him.

Easter Fun

We had a great Easter weekend. On Saturday, Addie participated in an egg hunt at church. I don't think she really understood the concept of the egg hunt. Most of the time, she would find an egg open it and carry around the candy inside the egg. I did most of the placing in the basket.

On Easter day we went over to my parent's house for another egg hunt and dinner. I think Addison understood the egg hunt better there. She really liked finding all the eggs, so much so, that we kept having to re-hide them because she kept saying "more, more." Also, Addison got to taste her first jellybeans and marshmallow bunnies. Now, she asks for jellybeans every morning when she wakes up and every day when I pick her up from daycare. She must be related to me.

The Youngest YoungS

Yes, that is a plus sign... here we go again!

This calls for a "drastic" change in the title of the blog to "The Youngest Youngs" ... but thank God there is only ONE. I remember when Addison was just born thinking "OMG, I can't believe my parents had 3 under the age of 2!!" I would call my mom every day and ask, "How'd you do it?!" She would always respond, "It was all a blur." I love having a twin sister and brother only 20 months older, but sheeze that's a lot of work. Paul and I are very excited to be pregnant again, and I'm especially happy that I'm through the first trimester!

I am about 14 weeks along and due on October 3rd. I've gone to a few different doctor appointments and had a couple of ultrasounds. I changed doctors to someone who is closer to home and I love that she has given me an ultrasound almost every time I go in for a checkup! We find out the sex on May 13th. Here are some pictures of the little one... which we also call "Gummy Bear" since that is what the baby looked like at about 8 weeks.

This is a picture of Gummy Bear at 8 weeks... this first picture is just a blob with the heartbeat on the bottom. I think the heartbeat was 156 this time.


This picture is of Gummy at 12 weeks. If you are having difficulty seeing the profile, the head is on the left side and Gummy's feet are propped up on the right. I believe the heartbeat was measured at 158 this time.


My doctor thought it would be cool to see Gummy in 3D! So I was like, "Heck Yeah!" This one is a bit harder to see... but... Gummy is facing to the right side of the screen so you can only see one eye. Gummy's squishy looking head is the round blob and the dark spot on the right of the head is an eye. Gummy is holding "it's" hand up like it's saying "hi!" or rocking out to some music... or as Paul likes to think "giving the Hook 'Em." Gummy's hand 'stub' is up by it's temple. These pictures are also at 12 weeks along.



I went for the first trimester screening and the doctor got some more ultrasounds... Everything looked "good." Here are some more profile pictures. The head is on the right this time and feet propped up on the left side.




I've been feeling better over the last couple of weeks. I was very tired and just feeling "icky" during the first trimester, but I love the second trimester. We keep telling Addison that she will be a big sister and that I have a baby in my tummy. This is when Addie says "baby" and lifts her shirt to look at her tummy. I'm thinking she has no idea what is about to ROCK her world. It will be interesting for everyone!
