Blood Test Results and Anyone Interested in a Mustang?

My blood test results came back normal for blood glucose! So, I don't have gestational diabetes, however, I do have to start taking iron because my results indicated I am anemic. I've been taking the iron for the last few days and actually feel a little less tired. Addison has definitely grown bigger just in the past week. I'm starting to feel much stronger kicks! Plus, I think I even felt a limb and what I think was a foot. This whole experience is SO cool!

Paul and I are trying to sell the Mustang because there is no way a car seat can be crammed in the back seat... safely. I am sad to sell it because it is such a fun car to drive. We've had it for about 3 years now so at least I got the "sports car fever" out of the way before we had to move into another family vehicle.

If you know anyone who is interested in a very well maintained 2006 Mustang GT with about 35,000 miles on it, please let us know! We have had it listed (and re-listed) on www.craigslist.com for about three weeks and I just put it on www.autotrader.com today, but no luck yet. We are thinking about getting a SUV next, but have not settled on what we want. Thanks for passing the word around to anyone you know who may want it.

She has a name! and 28 Week Doctor's Appointment

There are three questions that a pregnant woman hears from almost everyone. 1. How are you feeling? 2. Boy or Girl? 3. Do you have a name picked out? It's been easy to answer the first two questions... I'm feeling great! and it's a girl! When people ask about the name it almost always brings about a pretty interesting conversation about what to name your kid and what names people feel are horrible and what are their favorites.

It's been difficult for us to agree on a name and we had 4 or 5 names on our list for awhile. We would go for a few days with one name only to change it the next week with another. However, after talking with my mom about family names it became pretty obvious what to name our little one. My mother's grandmother pretty much raised my mom, she even called her "mom" instead of grandmother. She was a very special person to my mom, and her name was Addie Lea. My mom even gave me my middle name "Lea" after her. We decided to name our baby girl a more modern version of Addie... "Addison". So, the answer to "Do you have a name picked out?" is finally yes! Addison Kelly (after two very special women in my family)

I had my 28 week doctor's appointment today, as well as my glucola test for gestational diabetes. The drink you have to "choke" down for the test really wasn't that bad. It was like if you made tang drink with a ton of tang mix and very little water, or an orange soda with lots and lots of syrup and no carbonation. They are suppose to call me within a few days if there is any indication of gestational diabetes. If so, then I'll have to go back and do the tang explosion drink again with some other blood tests. As for the doctor's appointment, everything is "on track" and the baby's heartbeat measured at 153. (the highest it has been... but that may have been due to the awesome drink I just "downed"). The doctor measured my belly and it was exactly on track at 28 cm. Now, I will have an appointment every two weeks to check on things. It's scary to think that we will have a tiny living being in about 12 weeks!

28 Weeks:

Baby Shower and Mother's Day

Some friends from work threw a really nice shower for me a few weeks ago. It was so nice!

This onesie was SO cute!

Paul and I went to San Antonio with Cyndi (Paul's sister) and Trae (Cyndi's boyfriend), to see Paul's parents for Mother's Day as well as for his mother's birthday (Happy Birthday Mary). It was a lot of fun to see everyone. Paul was very thoughtful and gave me a James Avery "Mother's Love" necklace for Mother's Day. I was pretty surprised, and didn't expect it at all... In fact after receiving a Mother's Day card from my friends Katie and Mike and my brother and Jana (thanks guys!) it hit me that this will probably be the easiest/calmest Mother's Day I'll have in a very long time.
