Paul, Addison, and I drove to San Antonio on Christmas Eve to celebrate with Paul's family. It was an extra special event because Paul's brother, David, was back from his 2 and a half years abroad in Morocco for the Peace Corp. Here are a few pictures from this trip.
Here are some pictures of Christmas day spent with my parents at their new house in Liberty Hill. Addie loved seeing the Christmas tree and train around the tree, as well as the donkeys who belong to my parents' neighbors.
Addison has been doing great! She is now 17 months old and running full speed as well as really attempting to communicate and speak. Many times I ask her "what's the sign for ... " and she will say the word instead of signing it. Addison has also started to fake cry or tantrum when she wants something. The day care teacher even said that she will make fake sad faces in the mirror and say "mama" in a sad voice over and over during the day. The teacher said that it was pretty funny, because she is not doing it for attention but seems to do it just to see what she looks like in the mirror.
Today she wanted a scrub brush from the sink and started an average size tantrum which quickly escalated. I told her "no" and walked into the living room and invited her to come and read a book with me. Addison did not follow me, but proceeded to "cry" - fake cry - and fuss. Paul and I just stayed in the living room and ignored her until she stopped after a few minutes almost immediately. We then see her peek around the corner at us and then stumble back into the kitchen as soon as she saw us. She started right where she left off fake crying and fussing. It really was pretty funny. She finally came back into the living room and picked up a book for me to read to her.
