I took Jack to the doctor today for his "4 month" check up. 4 month is in quotes because Jack is now 5 and a half months old! Every time we took him to the doctor for his 4 month check up, Jack was sick. The doctor didn't want to give him the vaccinations while he was so sick so we kept putting it off. He is finally (knock on wood) feeling better!
At the appointment today, Jack weighed in at 19.2 pounds and 26.25 inches long. This is 88th percentile for weight and 65th for height! The Young's don't mess around, I guess we just have some big babies! Jack did great after having 3 shots, and hardly cried.
I love our doctor, she is awesome. After examining Jack, she said she thought that he may be getting eczema breakouts possibly from an allergic reaction.... either from the milk or the solids we are giving him. She suggested we try a different formula for babies with milk protein allergies. Also, Jack is still wheezing. Apparently, wheezing is a sign of possible silent acid reflux, so she wants to try some prevacid in case he has it (which is what Addison had too). This WOULD make sense, since Jack has not been sleeping well at all. He wakes up several times a night (10:00, 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, 6:00), and we can never figure out if he's teething, if he's itchy from the eczema, if he's hungry, or if he just wants to be held. We started him on the prevacid and the new formula today, I hope that over the next couple of weeks his skin starts to clear up, wheezing subsides, and he is able to SLEEP! After this week, Paul will be traveling for the next 11 weeks... so sleep is going to be a priority!
